Ductile iron
Ductile iron refers to the cast iron whose graphite is spherical after the molten iron is treated with spheroidizing agent. The Ductile iron presents the as cast structure of graphite, ferrite and pearlite under the microscope.
The spheroidization rate is an important standard to evaluate the quality of castings.
